420 Advertising Blues...

Many cannabis industry professionals have recently found themselves with the 420 Blues... This has come about because many states, and even our federal government, are doing everything they can to stop cannabiz's, co-ops, communities, collectives, clinics, doctors and access points from openly advertising. For that matter, they are even stifling most of the subtle advertising that would be considered acceptable with any other industry.

From past issues such as not allowing access points to do any advertising for doctors willing to review patients and recommend medicinal marijuana, to present problems such as cannabiz's being shut down for using naughty nurses in their advertising. Sex surely does sell, but apparently the cannabis industry isn't going to get away with that any more than big alcohol or tobacco. So unless your providing canna-porno's, using obvious sexual innuendo's to sell is out too.

It seems that most cannabis related organizations and companies are out on their buts as far as advertising goes, unless you want to base your whole advertising platform off of Facebook and Craigslist. That notion would give anyone the 420 blues, so don't feel bad.

But know that not only are you not alone, but that there is help! And it's right here.

420 Reps can help, and we aren't stingy like most other marketing companies. I'm not going to pussyfoot around and only offer you tidbits of information that entices you to buy our services. I'm going to give any and all tips that I can think to give you, without the BS. That's the way it should be, isn't it?

So, to start you out on the right path starting from this post, here is your first tip for marketing your cannabis business or organization:

Get Informative - Then Include Your Links

Okay, let me explain more thoroughly. There are plenty of rules that say you cannot outright advertise your business or organization, though there are no rules that say you can't advertise at all, or that you cannot have your links referenced or posted in various online content.

Think about it, because not a lot of canna-preneurs have figured this out yet. When it comes to online content, there are infinite options for advertising. Some of the most commons ones you have probably already heard of:

  • Ebooks
  • Blogging
  • Newsletters
  • Social Posting
  • How-To Guides
  • Product Reviews
  • Website Reviews
  • Article Authoring
  • Question & Answer Sites
The thing is, these are forms that online marketers have already been using for over a decade, it just seems that only a few cannabiz's, organizations and chronic marketers have really made use of these advertising avenues.

So what can you do? Get out there and write about your company, organization, product or services. Make it informative, and about subjects that everyone wants to know about. Maintain a blog that get's more personal with you and your organizations more intimate details, so that when a customer decides to research your background (and they will!), they can easily find all they need to know, straight from the horses mouth.
