Social Media Marketing has officially been designated an ART, not a SCIENCE. There's good reason for that to. It's because there is no official rule book for social media marketing, but there are definitely certain guidelines that can help you succeed, and navigate around the bajillion ways you can sink your reputation on social networks.
Now, I can't post all the guidelines here in this post (though I hope to cover most of them in future posts), so in this tip, we're going to focus on Posting Etiquette.
This is important, because most marketers ignore these this tip and burn bridges really quickly. I know this, because I had to learn the hard way, and I want to help you avoid having to make the same mistakes.

Facebook Tip #2: More "Likes"
There are two ways to get "Likes" to your fanpages. The first is the slow way, the second way is the efficient way. Which sounds better to you?
The slow way, is where you work your butt off promoting and exposing your fanpage all by yourself, and start to see some serious results in a year or so. The efficient way, is to build yourself a team of loyal and available social networkers, who can help you bring genuine interest to your fanpage, which will in turn bring more likes to your page. Depending on your team and who good they are at what they do, you could see results anywhere from

Facebook Tip #1: Use Your Labels
When you connect with a new friend on facebook, it gives you the opportunity to give them a label (or several labels). You can label them by the city they live in, the school they went, a group you are both a part of, a page they like, by a place you met them at or any number labels you choose to give them.
If you are going to boost your marketing reach, I suggest you start using your labels, as you can use them later when you have a business, cause, product or service to offer. That way, instead of blasting your entire friends list with messages they don't all want to see (which get's very old very quickly), you can send the info to the people who are more likely to want it. This will not only help cut down on friends who de-friend you, but it will turn your open marketing into tarketed marketing, which brings in business faster and in a more ethical way. It's also a good way to ensure you don't get labeled as a spammer.

420 Advertising Blues...
Many cannabis industry professionals have recently found themselves with the 420 Blues... This has come about because many states, and even our federal government, are doing everything they can to stop cannabiz's, co-ops, communities, collectives, clinics, doctors and access points from openly advertising. For that matter, they are even stifling most of the subtle advertising that would be considered acceptable with any other industry.
From past issues such as not allowing access points to do any advertising for doctors willing to review patients and recommend medicinal marijuana, to present problems such as cannabiz's being shut down for using naughty nurses in their advertising. Sex surely does sell, but apparently the cannabis industry isn't going to get away with that any more than big alcohol or tobacco. So unless your providing canna-porno's, using obvious sexual innuendo's to sell is out too.
It seems that most cannabis related organizations and companies are out on their buts as far as advertising goes, unless you want to base your whole advertising platform off of Facebook and Craigslist. That notion would give anyone the 420 blues, so don't feel bad.
But know that not only are you not alone, but that there is help! And it's right here.
